About

I was born in Ethiopia and raised in Kenya as the child of missionaries.  I currently live in California with my husband and two sons.  The life I lead today could not be more different than the childhood I experienced.  And yet, my world view, my values, and my perspective on daily life are all greatly shaped by the life I lived in Africa. While I may sink new roots into the soil of life here, my deepest roots, the roots of my heart, are firmly nestled in the beautiful, raw, warm soil of Africa.

Dear Carrie…..I love your expression, “roots of my heart”. I’ve often thought of my life in Kenya and Canada in the same kind of way. I’ve also always thought of writing a blog – you’ve inspired me! Blessings to you and I look forward to reading more now and then. Love from your “old dorm mom” Christine Loveday Seminutin

Thankful to Kathy Harless for sharing a link to this blog on facebook… It’s beautiful and makes me so happy! (BTW, I’m pretty sure at least one of the Ross boys loved Blue Band too- can’t remember which, or maybe they all did)!
